Privacy.
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Lambtor LLC ("Lambtor," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the OutStudy mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using OutStudy you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address, your chosen handle (username), and your display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and a verified email (or a private relay address) from that provider. You may optionally add a profile photo, tagline, location, and ventures.
Usage, session, and timer data
OutStudy is a study tracker, so we collect the activity you record: focus/work sessions and their durations, work categories, streaks, goals, countdowns, daily statistics, and derived metrics such as levels and achievements. We also collect basic app usage and diagnostic data to operate and improve the Service.
User-generated content (UGC)
OutStudy includes social features. We collect content you create and share, including posts, comments, reactions, photos, journal entries you choose to share, squad and community activity, and messages you send in live rooms, direct messages, and group chats. We also collect reports and moderation actions related to content.
Subscription and purchase data
OutStudy subscriptions are processed as in-app purchases through Apple and Google and managed via RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your full payment card details. We receive and store subscription status, entitlement, product identifiers, and transaction events from RevenueCat and the app stores so we can grant and maintain access.
Device and push data
With your permission we collect device push tokens to deliver notifications, and limited device information needed to operate the app. On iOS, the app-blocking feature uses Apple Family Controls / Screen Time on your device; that selection is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- To compute stats, streaks, leaderboards, levels, and Wrapped.
- To enable social features, notifications, and live rooms.
- To process subscriptions and manage entitlements.
- To moderate content and enforce our Terms and guidelines.
- To secure the Service and prevent abuse.
How we share information
We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service, including: hosting and database infrastructure (Railway), media storage (Cloudflare R2), subscription management (RevenueCat) together with the Apple App Store and Google Play, transactional email (Resend), push notification delivery (Expo, Apple, and Google), and content-safety screening (WebPurify). These providers may access information only as needed to perform services for us.
Content you choose to make public — such as your profile, posts, and leaderboard standing — is visible to other users by design. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Tracking
We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers in the app.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete content you create, change your handle and profile, block other users, and manage notification permissions in your device settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these, email support@outstudyapp.com.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. This is irreversible: it removes your profile, sessions, journals, posts, messages, and other associated data, and (if you signed in with Apple) revokes the Sign in with Apple token. Deleting your account does not cancel any active subscription, because subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google — cancel it separately in your App Store or Google Play account settings to stop being charged.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data as described above, except where we are required to retain limited records by law.
Data security and international transfers
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. The Service is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate.
Children
OutStudy is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by other reasonable means, and we will update the "Last updated" date above.
